Welcome to Ramme Art Gallery, a remarkable underground art gallery, two floors underground.
At the art gallery you can experience Norwegian artists from the 1800s and 1900s, who lived and created art in our local area. These artists were also well-known in their own time, both at home and abroad.
Exhibiting art by Edvard Munch, Christian Krohg, Frits Thaulow, Hans Gude, Theodor Kittelsen, Oda Krohg, Carl Dørnberger, Paul Fischer, and Oscar Wergeland.
At Ramme Art Gallery you will be able to experience a brand-new addition to the exhibition: artworks Edvard Munch made on paper during his time at Ramme. This includes prints, drawings, and watercolours.
Drawing and watercolours were consistent media in Munch’s life from the time he was a little boy. As a young adult, when he decided to become an artist, he became seriously interested in oil painting. Towards the end of the 1800s, he began experimenting with different types of printing and this allowed his creativity to find yet new directions.
The exhibition includes art created in the spirit of vitalism, the local landscape, portraits of friends, models, and a little teaser of the Aula decorations.
Ramme Art Gallery has camera surveillance in all public areas.

We have a cloakroom with secure lockers. We ask that all bags, backpacks, umbrellas, and coats be kept in the lockers.
